Mary creates a non- judgmental and empathic atmosphere for people dealing with a variety of issues related to pregnancy. Many of Mary’s clients grieve the loss of the dream of an “ideal” pregnancy – a pregnancy experience that would be exactly the way she had dreamt it would be. When a woman faces difficulties with an unplanned pregnancy, miscarriage (s), or postpartum depression, she can often feel a sense of shame and inadequacy that she doesn’t measure up to what is expected of her as a woman. Through counselling, women are encouraged to process their feelings openly and honestly, while also learning practical steps that will enable them to cope with their ongoing challenges.
Mary has extensive training and expansive professional experience working with women and couples experiencing post partum depression/anxiety. She is a member in good standing with the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society ( CFAS), American Society of Reproductive Medicine ( ASRM) and is on the board of directors with Pacific Post Partum Support Society (PPPSS).
